Reaching the summit of the Americas with this group was incredibly special! Starting the year by rediscovering the power of our will to achieve something meaningful is truly rewarding. Along the way, reconnecting with loved ones, making new friends, and experiencing breathtaking landscapes were gifts bestowed by the mountains. Thank you, Max, Edu, and Sebastian, for your dedicated care—you made a real difference for the entire group!

On January 31st at 2 pm local time, I reached Aconcagua’s summit at 6,961 m (22,837 ft) after over 7 hours battling extreme conditions—strong winds, -35 °C, and very low oxygen. The challenge pushed me to my physical and mental limits, yet it remains one of the best experiences of my life. Amid raging storms outside and within, my focus never wavered. My deepest thanks to Maximo Kausch and the incredible Andes Specialists team—a group you can truly trust. I’m forever grateful to every member of our climbing group, especially George Kalbin, Felix, Fabian Hugelshofer, Ryan Pyle, Jesse Rosenberg, Chad Ingraham, Caio Vilela, Kristen, Fiona, Kurt Schobesberger, Yan, and Quentin, as well as the Brazilian team whose energy warmed our journey. THANK YOU all—it was like magic.

A special thanks to guide Maximo Kausch and his team at Andes Specialists, whose work on the mountain is unparalleled. Their incredible expertise secured a summit push and success for many, despite sub-par weather with very strong winds. I’m also grateful to guide Angel Armesto, who ensured I had the proper acclimatization before my second summit attempt—without him, reaching the summit wouldn’t have been possible. I hold both guides in high regard and hope to climb with them again. Additionally, I extend my thanks to the climbing team from Extreme Treks—Ryan Pyle, Chad Ingraham, Jesse Rosenberg, and Caio Vilela—as well as Mahmoud Amer and everyone else who made this journey unforgettable.

We encountered a few challenges along the way, such as difficult access to the mountain due to landslides and some unexpectedly cold weather. Despite these obstacles, we truly had a good time. We’re sure our expectations and goals were achieved thanks to your great work!

The expedition was led superbly by Max and Edu, who cared for the whole team. The tents were solid and expertly secured to withstand high winds. Despite a few issues with the mules, every problem was swiftly overcome. The group was fantastic, and I was extremely happy and satisfied with the experience.

Hey Max, your approach was exactly what I needed to reduce my stress and disappointment. Even though I didn’t summit, every word you said resonated with me deeply and helped shift my perspective. Your insights reminded me that it’s not just about reaching the summit, but about the entire journey and the lessons learned along the way. Your support and psychological guidance have made a significant difference, and that is why you are truly the best. Thank you for always being there and for helping me see the bigger picture. 🙏🙏

This was my second trip with Andes Specialists and just like my first it was fantastic! Max’s team was first-rate, with guides Jorge, Carla, Nico, Manu, and Matias taking wonderful care of us and Charly feeding us world-class food! I’ve had over 30 mountain expeditions over the years and the two with Andes Specialists are at the top of these experiences. I highly recommend Andes Specialists for climbing in the Andes!

I just want to thank you for the fantastic experience I had on the Ojos Del Salada expedition in March 2016. Although we faced some high winds that added a challenging twist to the journey, Maximo and his team did an incredible job and helped everyone reach their goals. I would wholeheartedly recommend his team to anyone seeking an unforgettable adventure, with special thanks to their outstanding support at Bahia Iglesias.
