Pico Colorado is within the following mountain ranges: Argentine Andes, Cordillera Oriental Argentina, Puna de Atacama, Serranía del Cajón. It is the highest of Serranía del Cajón. It is located at the Argentinean province of Catamarca. Its slopes are at the Argentinean city of Santa María.
